Bedroom Paint Colors

As with selecting a paint color for any other room, the most important thing to remember when selecting a paint color for the bedroom is how color is affecting our moods, senses and feelings. Different colors can trigger different things. As an example, red is a color that excites and has been shown in clinical tests to increase appetite. As you may be able to see, shades of red would be much more applicable for a kitchen or dining room than for a bedroom.

Another thing to be considered is the dimensions of the room. If you have got a tiny bedroom and need to make it appear bigger, you would want to select lighter shades of whatever color you make a decision to go with because lighter colors open up a room, reflect more light and essentially make the room look larger. Darker colors, from another viewpoint can make a room look smaller. If you've an older home with atypically high ceilings or have a monstrous bedroom, you might essentially wish to select darker colors to make it look smaller.

1. The 1st rule is the color family rule:- For instance, if you'd like to paint your room with the color blue, you must consider having a decoration within your bedroom that may also have the shade of blue. This is known as monochromatic scheme and it’s easy to do and very pleasing for the general public. Hence if you like a specific color for your bedroom wall, you need to also get a shade of that color in as your lampshade color, your bed sheet color and also your picture frame color.

2. The second rule is the next door neighbour color rule:- If you are acquainted with the color wheel, you'll have a concept on what types of color you must put in your bedroom. As an example, if you like red, then the colours next to it in the color wheel will turn out to be great mixes. If you select red then you must also use the colours orange and violet. If you select blue, then the colours green and violet can turn out to be a great mix and such like. This color range is known as the equivalent color range.

3. The 3rd rule is the Ying and Yang rule:- Chinese convictions suggest that you must have sufficient Yin and Yang in your home. This indicates that there should be opposites of everything and this could include the colours. And, this turns out to be accurate. It can make a congenial environment that you'll truly love. Generally, people love the basic black and white mix. You can play around with different dark and light shades of colours and determine which can supply you with a nice looking bedroom.

These are the 3 basic guidelines in providing a comfortable and relaxing environment in your bedroom. Be imaginative and you'll definitely have different concepts on what colours you must paint your bedroom with.
